Library User. “Start…” computer sessions now available in local libraries

Ever looked enviously at people on computers and wondered what it’s all about? Well now is your chance to join them and find out more about the basics of computers, IT, email and those technical terms which frighten you!

Staff in libraries in the NE area have undergone training to assist members of the public keen to find out more about computers and a special programme of FREE “Start…” sessions has been created.

You can now book your place in a number of local libraries in the Carrickfergus area on one of three “Start” sessions designed to encourage you to “Start Computers”, “Start Email” and “Start the Internet”.
During these one-hour sessions, staff will assist you in going through a series of simple and step-by-step exercises to start you on your way with computers, internet and email.

To make it even easier, these introductory sessions are free to all library members and with free library membership for everyone, you can sign up at Carrickfergus Library (Joymount Court), Greenisland Library (Glassillan Grove) or Whitehead Library (Edward Road).

When you have successfully completed a “Start” session, you can of course continue to avail of free internet use for library members at any library throughout Northern Ireland to practice your skills!
