Individual work with children such as
- assessment of children's special educational needs
- advice to teachers, parents and children
- counselling and therapeutic interventions
- provision of written reports/advice at stages 3, 4, and 5 of the Code of Practice
- special testing of pupils who are seeking a place in a Grammar School
- advice on the retention of overage pupils
- support to schools who wish to make special examination arrangements for pupils sitting public examinations
Consultation with schools on the needs of pupils.
Supporting and advising schools on policy and practice.
Supporting schools on issues such as bereavement, suicide, bullying, school refusal and child protection.
Provision of training and information to teachers, colleagues, psychologists in training and other agencies.
Referral to other services such as, Literacy Teaching Support Service, Behaivour Support Service, Speech and Language Therapy Service.
