Extended Schools, Purchasing

Given the ethos of Extended Schools must I always use Board suppliers if for example I am trying to engage in a social enterprise initiative for children that requires them to negotiate with suppliers in a local community?

Can I use local suppliers who can provide me with a service quickly, if I provide quotes?

If it is a small scheme in which children are involved in negotiating rates for a small amount of resources, allowing for development of business and social skills this will be approved.

No, schools must use approved board suppliers for supply of goods and services. This should be quicker as you do not require quotes and many will operate a next day delivery service.
