Handbook for Schools with Primary and Post-primary Learning Support Centres

The Learning Support Centres (LSCs) cater for pupils who have statements of Special Educational Need and all have learning difficulties ranging from MLD to SLD as well as syndromes such as ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, Hearing/Sight Impairment or other disabilities.

The handbook has been created to help senior managers and practitioners to develop a consistency model for the day to day organisation and operation of the Learning Support Centre in their school. We hope this document will assist schools to achieve excellent outcomes in learning and teaching for each individual pupil with SEN

SERVICES & INFORMATION

The Education and Library Boards (ELBs) were dissolved on 31 March 2015. The Education Authority was established on 01 April 2015 and is now responsible for all of the operational functions previously carried out by the five ELBs in accordance with the Education Orders.
