Ballyhackett Primary School and Castleroe Primary School are coming together for the first time through the PIEE project. They are keen to declare recognition and an appreciation of difference and diversity within their own schools as well as within each other’s school .They see this project as a means of building upon their similarities as small schools with teaching principals as well as providing a safe forum to explore their differences.
The three year structure of PIEE was very appealing to these schools as it enhances the opportunities for building meaningful and more sustainable relationships. Teachers can learn from working with other teachers, ideas and therefore opportunities for the children can be enhanced.
PIEE has the added benefit of providing financial help enabling the schools to access facilitators as well as helping them purchase resources all of which will impact on the quality of the education provided to the children.
