Schools Branch, Pre-School Education Advisory Group (PEAG)
The North Eastern Education and Library Board Pre-School Education Advisory Group (PEAG) was formed in 1998 to implement the Government’s strategic target of securing and funding pre-school education places through the Pre-School Education Expansion Programme.
The PEAG was established by and is accountable to the North Eastern Education and Library Board and includes representatives from the statutory, voluntary and private sectors. Pre-school education is designed for children in the year immediately before they enter Primary 1 - for September 2008 that means children whose birthday is between 2nd July 2004 and 1 July 2005. Funded pre-school places are available in nursery schools, nursery units and in voluntary or private playgroups which are part of the pre-school expansion
programme.
