There are currently 209 primary schools in the Board’s area. The Primary Principals’ Association is a group of principals who are nominated by their colleagues from five areas of the Board and are representative of small and large schools of controlled, maintained and integrated sectors.
The purpose of the Primary Principals’ Association is to provide:
-
ongoing, regular opportunities for Principals to communicate with the Board;
-
a mechanism for face to face discussion regarding key issues;
-
a forum for short term awareness raising regarding a variety of curriculum and general issues;
-
an opportunity for Principals to meet each other on a regular basis and to exchange views;
-
an effective identification of the needs of schools, leading to an improved Board service;
-
an opportunity for a two-way process to operate between schools and the Board, allowing for information to be exchanged.
Minutes of the meetings of the Primary Principals’ Association are circulated to all Primary Schools and to Board Officers.
