Curriculum Advisory and Support Service
The Curriculum Advisory and Support Service (CASS) of the North Eastern Education and Library Board consists of a group of professional staff which works in partnership with schools and other agencies to provide a high quality, cost-effective and responsive support service to schools.
CASS provides challenging and supportive staff development and training. A wide range of support and expertise is available, both centre-based and school-focused, in all areas of the curriculum.
CASS has as flexible an approach as possible to support, in order to enable schools to respond to the challenging demands placed upon them.
In striving to realise the Board’s Mission Statement, the work of CASS will be underpinned by a number of principles:
- Promotion of lifelong learning as an entitlement for all
- Delivery of an educational service in partnership with schools, parents and other agencies
- Reviewing the service, its structures and operation on a regular basis to take into account the changing educational context
- Equality of access and opportunity for all
- Promotion of a culture of tolerance and mutual understanding amongst young people
- A commitment to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding of those involved in the education service to face the challenges of the new millennium
