During the late 1990s, the DELTA parenting programme was very successfully piloted in a number of schools across the NEELB. This involved a 4-6 week programme of advice/support for parents on a range of relevant issues which continued for a number of years. A further Early Years project was subsequently developed with 21 Primary Schools during 2005-06, which aimed to focus on a particular curriculum area which was relevant to identified revised curriculum early years themes (creativity, physical development, language development and outdoor learning). Each school received training and resources and were required to trial innovative ways to involve parents/carers in their children's learning within the specified area of learning. The project's evaluation report is attached for information.
