RGS launches new climate change website for schools

The Royal Geographical Society has launched a new website for schools on climate change and how it affects all aspects of life. It supports the KS3 geography and citizenship curriculum and links to GCSE and A-level syllabuses. There are student worksheets to download, as well as teachers’ notes.  To view the site, go to www.yourclimateyourlife.org.uk

Online climate change gaming for schools

‘Operation: Climate Control’ is a new online game to teach students about climate change. It’s intended for use in schools (KS4), and players get the chance to create environmental policy for Europe for the 21st century. It is free to use and there are resources for teachers.  http://www.operationclimatecontrol.co.uk/content/

GET YOUR PUPILS TO UPLOAD PHOTOS OF THEIR AREA TO THIS WEBSITE

The Geograph British Isles project aims to collect geographically representative photographs and information for every square kilometre of the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and you can be part of it.

There are still lots of squares to be filled for Northern Ireland so why not let your pupils put their mobile phone cameras to good use.
