Home Economics, Revised Curriculum

Home Economics is included within the area of Learning for Life and Work at Key Stage Three and enables pupils to acquire knowledge, understanding and practical skills in relation to, for example, food choice, family relationships, financial and consumer awareness.

 

This area of the site contains support materials for Home Economics heads of department and teachers implementing the Revised Curriculum.  Training materials that have been used on INSET days are published here and additional materials will be added as they become available.

Two exemplar units of work suitable for Key Stage Three are available for department use.  It is possible to use them as they stand, however it is more likely that schools will adapt the units to suit the needs of their particular pupils and circumstances.
