ICT Curriculum, Professional Development

Following the extensive programme of NOF ICT training carried out throughout NEELB, teachers may wish to continue their professional development which will build upon their existing knowledge.
A number of routes are available which are externally accredited.

Intel Teach to the Future
Intel® Teach to the Future is free, hands-on, practical training that will help teachers integrate ICT into their teaching of the curriculum.

Based on the needs expressed by teachers, Intel, together with Oxford University Department of Educational Studies, has adapted a programme devised in the United States. This enables participating teachers to develop lesson plans and schemes of work that use ICT as a tool to enhance teaching and learning.

OCR
CERTIFICATE AND DIPLOMA IN ICT FOR TEACHERS AND TRAINERS
These qualifications have been designed to recognise the achievements of teachers and trainers who use ICT as a resource in teaching and training.

 

The qualifications are available at two levels: Certificate level and Diploma level. The Certificate recognises practical skills in the use of ICT for preparing material for personal/professional use and for use as part of learning activities. The Diploma recognises the practical application of the use of ICT as a resource for delivering and assessing learning programmes in a classroom context.

ECDL
The European Computer Driving Licence® (or ECDL) is the European-wide qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in computer skills.
