COMENIUS 3 - Network on Parental Involvement in Schools
The North Eastern Board’s partners in the Education Ministry in Brandenburg (Germany) have launched a Comenius 3 Network on the theme of Parental Involvement in Schools. Drawing on EU funding for up to three years, Comenius 3 projects are designed to promote and disseminate good practice internationally across all levels in the educational sector.
Parental Involvement is a key area currently under review in many local schools and there will be an opportunity for a number of Principals or senior management staff to take part in a conference on this issue in Berlin in November. Contact bill.brodie@neelb.org.uk for further details or click COPASCH to view the project Web site.
Recent pilot projects involving CASS staff and Early Years teachers in local schools are reviewed in the Activities section of the Web site. The description of a range of projects and the evaluation of outcomes provide interesting pointers for those seeking to develop good practice in this area.
