Resources, Numeracy software evaluation

We have developed this booklet of software evaluations for Numeracy to support the Northern Ireland Numeracy Strategy. We hope you are going to find this ICT supplement a useful guide through some content specific and content free software. By using the ICT evaluation form included in the Numeracy Strategy Teaching and Learning file (published Spring 2001), we have provided you with our shared views on the programmes listed below.

From the software we evaluated, we included those programs that we thought offered good support to primary age children learning about mathematics. Some of these are part of the Classroom 2000 Companion CD Rom. Others have been around for a while and could well be in your own school. We would encourage you to try them out - it could make the teaching and learning much more fun for both you and your pupils.
