Transport, Exceptional Circumstances

What exceptional circumstances are related to St. Patrick's college, Maghera?
For the purpose of home to school transport arrangements, St Patrick's College, Maghera can be treated as a maintained secondary school and also as a denominational grammar school.
 
The following conditions will apply for the purposes of assessing entitlement to transport assistance:-
 
  • Pupils from primary schools transferring to St Patricks College, in its capacity as a maintained secondary school will qualify for travel assistance provided their permanent home address is located outside the statutory walking distance of 3 miles from the College.

  • Pupils who take part in the Transfer Procedure who reside within 3 miles of St Patricks College who wish to attend a denominational grammar school outside the statutory walking distance must demonstrate that they were unable to gain a place in St Patricks College, in order to qualify for transport assistance to the further away school.
