Transport, Ethnic Minorities including Travelling People

Will transport assistance be provided for ethnic minority children of compulsory school age?
Transport assistance will be provided for ethnic minority children of compulsory school age to attend their nearest suitable primary and post primary schools.

 

Will transport assistance be availalbe for travelling children who are not in permanent accommodation?
Special arrangements may be put in place for travelling children who are not in permanent accommodation to facilitate their attendance at school.

 

Will transport assistance be availalbe for travelling children who are in permanent accommodation?
Travellers who move into permanent accommodation will be considered for transport assistance on the same basis as all other mainstream pupils.

 

What if the cost of transport assistance is very high?
The Board will not be required to provide transport assistance where the cost of such transport will result in unreasonable public expenditure.
