In what circumstances would refunds be paid? The Board will consider the payment of refunds to parents in respect of pupils entitled to assistance with home to school transport but who provide transport for their own children in the following circumstances.
- Where there is no suitable bus stage within the statutory walking distance of the pupil’s permanent home address.
- Where the pupil’s permanent home address is located outside the statutory walking distance of the nearest suitable school, but no Board or public transport is available.
- Where the parent requests a refund rather than the annual ticket.
How would refunds be paid?Payment of refunds will be made in accordance with the Board’s scheme and will be paid on an annual basis.
Refunds will be payable from the commencement of the school year in which the application was made.
