When may transport be provided for children on road safety grounds? Transport may be provided for children on road safety grounds, based on the criteria for the assessment of safe walking routes to school drawn up by the Local Authority Road Safety Officers’ Association (
LARSOA). Transport on road safety grounds will be provided only to the nearest suitable school.
