Expeditions
After basic training, including 2 practice expeditions (one if you have your Bronze), plan and carry out a 3 day venture in unfamiliar country including, 2 nights camping. You can choose to do one of the following:
Either: Expedition - Complete a journey covering a minimum of 30 miles/48km on foot.
Or: Exploration - Complete an exploration spending more time on a study or an activity than journeying. Similar ventures on horseback or bicycle, canoe or boat can also be undertaken.
Skills
Choose a hobby, a topic to study, or some other leisure interest; follow it regularly for 12 months (6 months for those who have qualified at Bronze) and improve your skill or knowledge.

Physical Recreation
Take up a physical activity and show improved performance for at least 6 weeks, reach a given standard.

- Diving
- Triathlon
